The Pacific is a forthcoming Australian-filmed mini-series which was made before Out of the Blue but still hasn't hit the airwaves. Among its cast of well-known faces from Aussie drama are Aidan Gillett (Daniel McManus) and Zoe Carides (Pia Jones).
TV Tonight reported this week that the show isn't expected to premiere until 2010 but will air across the globe, in territories including the US, UK, Germany and France.
Aidan has confirmed to fans on Facebook that he has a small role in the first episode and really enjoyed being involved in the project.
From the creators of Band of Brothers, The Pacific will air in 10 parts and tell the story of three Marines during America's battle with the Japanese in World War II.

Out of the Blue is a compelling Australian soap set in the beach suburb of Manly. Commissioned as a replacement for Neighbours on the BBC, the show aired for 130 episodes in an afternoon slot from April 2008 to January 2009. A repeat run then began on the digital channel Fiver in February 2009 and was completed in August 2009.
The show has also been screened in 54 territories worldwide, including Australia, where it now airs on Network Ten on Saturday afternoons.

UK
Out of the Blue is no longer airing in the UK. All 130 episodes have now been broadcast by the BBC and the repeat run on Fiver has also been completed.
New Zealand
All 130 episodes of series one have now aired.
